Minecraft Cake

Once again, I have another cake for your enjoyment!

This most recent one was done for a former nursing instructor's son's 13th birthday! He was really into a game called Minecraft which I also have played (yes I am a slight geek). My brother introduced me to last summer and it was awesome! Anyways, I looked up a bunch of screen shots to get some inspiration and came up with this beauty. It was 100% gluten free using brown rice Rice Krispies treats for the sculptures, Pamela's gluten free chocolate cake mix, my marshmallow fondant, and fresh raspberry icing.

The game is an RPG where you're in this land and can chop down trees for wood and mine rocks for stone and tools and you can farm animals or just explore or even hunt zombies. In this cake I have the main character Steve who has a pickaxe and the green character is called a Creeper which is this monster that can attack you. Everything is all pixel-y thus the boxy cake. It was a lot of fun making this cake! I'll hopefully get another photo soon of the entire cake.
